Another one of the 1400 Blue Mountain-Birch Cove park volunteers to speak about the vision for a BMBCL national park. “Our own little mini-Keji” with canoe routes, camping, etc.

She’s quoting Tim Bousquet but pronounced his name wrong.

Gorgeous winter day on Hobson’s Lake in BMBCL, which we hope Parks Canada will agree will be Canada’s next Urban Wilderness Park.
Decision in late 2026.

The future of Blue Mountain-Birch Cove Lakes is on the line. Let's be clear, this isn't planning. It's political interference & corporate influence dressed up as "housing solutions".

HRM needs affordable, climate ready housing within serviced areas. Not this.

What’s happening with the proposed development is not simply “development”. EAC's senior wilderness outreach coordinator, Karen McKendry, recently spoke on the Todd Veinotte show about what's happening in Sandy Lake & BMBCL.

I've seen a woman with a Gucci purse in white strappy sandals on the BMBCL trails in the past, so your theory is relevant.

EAC's senior wilderness outreach coordinator, Karen McKendry, recently spoke on Information Morning about what's happening in Sandy Lake & BMBCL.

NS deserves neighborhoods that are connected, climate safe, affordable to maintain and guided by evidence.

The Province wants to turn Sandy Lake & BMBCL into massive housing projects. These forests are critical to communities and biodiversity. We need housing, but we need to build it where it makes sense.

🚨 This might be one of our last chances to save two crucial wild spaces in the HRM from being pushed into sprawling development.

This isn’t good planning.
It’s anti-democratic and it puts people and nature at risk.

Near home in #Halifax, the West Bedford greenfield developments are an example. Some elements are well executed, and who wouldn’t want to live near BMBCL? But the car-dependency by design is pretty pathetic.
