Over his 25-year managerial career with the Braves and four seasons with Toronto, Cox achieved 2,504 regular-season wins, 16 playoff appearances, and 67 postseason victories, ranking him among baseball's all-time greats. Known for his old-school approach, including wearing spikes and stirrups and fostering loyalty among players, he was the first National League manager to win 100 games in a season five times and earned Manager of the Year honors four times. Despite only one World Series win in five attempts, Cox left an enduring legacy in baseball. His career was marked by close relationships with players and successors, a commitment to the game, and a reputation for respect and leadership. Cox’s contributions to the Braves were immortalized with his No. 6 jersey retired and his induction into the Hall of Fame in 2014. He is survived by his wife, Pam.
