My #7 ranked #Columbo episode is "Murder by the Book". Many of you know it was directed by Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg. Not as many know that it was written by another legendary Hollywood Steven: Steven Bochco.

That should truly be the standard: Bochco got Cop Rock on the air. What's your excuse.

.... well, Cop Rock actually but....

It has to be the insane Cop Rock, what Bochco did after hill str blues, which is the ur source of almost all modern cop shows

The Altman comparison clicks — Hill Street Blues ran a precinct's worth of overlapping threads in one hour and let them spill into the next episode. Which Bochco show would you rewatch first?

I hope Steven Bochco sent those two cards congratulating them on a job well done and then offered them a chance to reboot Cop Rock.

Currie Graham - Actor (1923 / Homestead / Bass X Machina)
Currie Graham Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Currie Graham. Currie is an actor who you may know from such fantastic shows as: Marvels Agent Carter, 1923, Homestead, The Rookie, and the upcoming animated series Bass X Machina. In this episode, we chat about why Currie decided to come down from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and study acting in New York. He shares some fun stories about some early jobs he had that were a little short of legal. Currie even shares a harrowing story where he almost got shot, and a totally different story where a famous mob boss almost had him wacked! Then we discuss some of his acting projects, and how working on 'Marvel's Agent Carter' got him to start screenwriting. Currie shares stories from the sets of some of his more recent shows, and then we delve into what it means to be a successful actor. Work ethic is a big deal to Currie, and it shows. There have been a few folks in the industry that really helped Currie get to where he is; some even saved his life, literally. He is kind enough to mention some of those fine individuals and explain how they helped him. Lastly, Currie tells the charming story of how a "jaguar" turned a colleague into one of his good friends. You can catch Currie on the brand-new animated series 'Bass X Machina', and as Blake Masterson on 'Homestead'.

TIL that the guy hugging Sharon Stone in this picture played a sure fire prospect who was also a bed wetter.

Also that Dennis Franz and the guy in the pink shirt and tie also costarred in Beverly Hills Buntz.

In fact a lot of this cast were in future Steven Bochco shows.

I remember that!
Boy, that show broke a lot of barriers — and hardly anyone noticed at the time. David Milch and Steven Bochco on the same show ... wow.
