I’ve always preferred it to BotNS. And I like BotNS a great deal.
Not as acclaimed as his Book of the New Sun, Gene Wolfe’s Book of the Long Sun is nevertheless a masterwork.

Nearly done with my first reread of The Shadow of the Torturer-- such a tremendous book. I was already enamored with BOTNS, but the little things I'm picking up on this time around have only made the text even richer.
