I'm really excited to see what my kid comes home with. I'm really hoping for some of those tiny Utz cheese balls, a couple Butterfingers, some bottlecaps, and (any flavor but grape) Nerds. My kid is really generous but I never take the really good stuff if there's not more than one.

I’m an archaeologist and sometimes when we’re digging in a wooded area we’ll come across a plant called spicebush. Turns out its leaves and roots smell just like bottlecaps. The first time it happened, it took me right back to Halloween. I suspect that it’s the original source of the flavor.

My favorite piece I've judged was someone who used bottle caps (including the screw mechanism), with the outie portion between the lining and shell of canvas shoes, to make turnable gears! It was for Detective Conan, and I adored it!
