BPF-Based Display Panel Drivers Being Explored For Linux
BPF-based HID drivers have helped to deliver quirks/fixes for different HID devices more quickly than being bound by the conventional kernel cycle. Loading these eBPF programs from user-space have…

For defense-in-depth, host-level eBPF LSM hooks mediate BPF syscalls from the worker's cgroup, preventing map modifications even under local privilege escalation. But you're right—if a worker starts with host-root, containment requires an out-of-band hypervisor/TPM root of trust.

Exactly right—the kill path must sit outside the worker's blast radius. In Hard Stop, we enforce strict privilege separation. Worker runtimes drop CAP_SYS_ADMIN and CAP_BPF in unprivileged namespaces, with zero mount access to the supervisor’s pinned BPF maps or /sys/fs/cgroup.

This is a significant increase from the 512 bytes limit and likely to help simplify many existing programs in the long term. In Cilium, we're often running close to the current limit and reducing our stack usage tends to increase our BPF complexity. So a 4x bump is definitely welcome!
