So true. Especially after the demise of Twitter and the braindeath-rewarding algorithmic shitfire Facebook and Instagram have become. Writers who'd spent years building their followings at those places had their reach annihilated. Bluesky moves scarily fast but it's become a refuge for some of us.

As much as we want to make money from writing, most of us write because we want to share stories and connect with people. We're all aware that promotion opportunities are limited, so we have to find ways to get eyes on our work and if that somehow upsets some people I really think that's on them.
