Nekoel Blazelock (alternate outfit) - Break From Crimson project

Character lore in the ALT description! (I just copy pasted what I already wrote for her older drawing)

#breakfromcrimson #catgirl #catgirlart #oc #ocart #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart

Hot headed, busty, and ready to bust some heads! That's the best way I could describe Nekoel. She's got a short fuse and is quick to engage in conflict without much regard for her own safety. Getting into fights is really exciting for Nekoel, as it's a break from the mundane life she once had. But that mundane life is something she took for granted. Nekoel doesn't really have some sad backstory or past trauma. And that's exactly why she's so pissed! The Lunatics came and ruined everything. The people she was accustomed to seeing everyday vanished from this desolate town. The pain of losing that life burns her up and keeps her heart brightly blazing! Nekoel is determined to make those devils pay for what they've done, and she'll enjoy bashing them into the ground!

Despite Nekoel's furious nature, she has a sweet side too. Or rather a sweet tooth! Nekoel inherited her family's bakery business that she's determined to keep running even during the middle of an apocalypse. She's passionate about baking and it's a dream she won't let die. Her shop has become a safe haven for the town of Vandalize. Sit down, relax, and enjoy a sweet donut! Sometimes you need to take a moment to breathe and let go. Like flowing through a river in a burning desert.

Flan (tamed) - Break From Crimson Project

Character lore in the ALT description!

#breakfromcrimson #catgirl #catgirlart #oc #ocart #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart

Flan lore part 3:

Flan was given this outfit by Lavender after she adopted Flan later in the story. The girls of the Crimson Annihilation Team showed Flan the love and warmth she never knew, convincing her to live like a normal person. By this time Flan starts to open up to people and not be so cautious. But she still can be quite mischievous!

Lavender was able to get Flan to start reading books and it turns out she really enjoys them! And nobody was expecting the wild Flan to be so smart! She even eventually is able to decipher a book from the Crimson Earth that Ezelia found. What kind of secrets does it hold?

Flan (casual clothes) - Break From Crimson Project

Character lore in the ALT description!

#breakfromcrimson #catgirl #catgirlart #oc #ocart #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart

Flan lore part 2:

When Rena and Flan were rescued from a zombieneko attack and brought to see a nurse, Flan was given this outfit to get her out of her rags, along with being cleaned and having her hair cared for. Flan sustained no injuries, but Rena suffered from a massive bite wound…

Rena and Flan are similar in many ways! Rena's body can mutate, giving her massive bakeneko paws. But this was caused by an otherworldly disease. Flan however is a biological anomaly, being already born with cat paws and two tails. Flan used to be bullied for her abnormal appearance, but Rena always reassures her that Flan's physical characteristics are actually a gift. Myths speak of two tailed cats possessing immense power, so Flan must be special, Rena believes! Flan herself doesn't think so.

Reality continues to grow more and more unstable due to the crossing over of worlds. What other abnormal beings will we get to meet?!

Fun fact - Flan's paws have claws too! Don't make her angry or she'll bring them out on you!

Stray cat Flan - Break From Crimson Project

Character lore in the ALT description!

#breakfromcrimson #catgirl #catgirlart #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #oc #ocart

Flan lore part 1:

A lost child who is more cat than girl. Flan looks and behaves just like an actual cat and normal people view her behavior as being quite immature. But despite her primal urges, Flan is actually very intelligent for a child.

Flan lives in and adamantly insists on staying in an alley where she was left there by her mother at the beginning of the crimson apocalypse. Flan believes her mother will come back for her someday, so she stays waiting.

One day Flan met Rena who was passing through the alley on her way to visit a trader. The two became friends because Rena started bringing Flan food. Rena has tried to get Flan to come live with her instead of being homeless, she'd be more than happy to take care of her! But no matter what she tries Flan won't budge. Rena even once attempted to kidnap Flan for her own good, but she got away! The little escape artist always ends up right back at that alley no matter what. So instead Rena often visits her to make sure she's safe.

Fun fact: Flan was named after flan, the caramel pudding dessert!

Lumie Nocturne - Break From Crimson Project

character lore in ALT description!

#breakfromcrimson #oc #ocart #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #donut

While Lumie isn't a fighter, she's an honorary member of the Crimson Annihilation Team. Lumie doesn't let the world around her stop her from being the ultimate baker. Originally an employee at Nekoel's bakery, she still passionately bakes all the goodies, while Nekoel manages the shop and customers. Both Lumie and Nekoel are still dedicated to keeping the donut shop alive, as it holds a deep sentimental value to them.

Lumie is a very cute and bubbly person, almost as if she's oblivious of the circumstances she's living in. Maybe she's a little too carefree, because her clumsiness always gets her in trouble, but somehow she never ruins food. Lumie is also very fond of catgirls! She thinks they're so cute that she wants to take them home! Hopefully she doesn't actually catnap anyone.

Ezelia Ash - Break From Crimson Project

I'm gonna try something different this time and put the character lore in the ALT description thingy, so the Bluesky people can read it too.

#breakfromcrimson #catgirl #leopardgirl #oc #originalcharacter #ocart #originalcharacterart #animeart #traditionalart

Despite also being a catgirl, loosely based off of a snow leopard, Ezelia is not a member of the Crimson Annihilation Team, but rather belongs to a different faction known as L.E.O., a group dedicated to maintaining safety and order in the lawless town of Vandalize. But we'll talk more about them another time, this post is about Ezelia herself.

Ezelia is your typical introverted, soft, and shy girl who really likes to read books and is also a creative person. She doesn't really speak her mind and usually just goes along with whatever mission she's sent on. Ezelia prefers to avoid conflict, but despite that joined L.E.O. along with her best friend in hopes of working towards a better future. Ezelia also has a crush on her best friend, but isn't able to confess to her.

She doesn't like to fight, but Ezelia is very much equipped for encounters with Lunatics and even wild Bakeneko. Her Crimson Artifact is a cursed doll that was originally made by a Lunatic wizard with the intention of protecting Lunatic children from Bakeneko attacks. Not even Ezelia herself fully understands the doll's powers, but it's capable of very dangerous abilities, such as controlling people like a puppet, and even transforming into a monster to fight for her.

Additionally, Ezelia's hat may look monstrous too, but it's actually part of Ezelia's costume she made herself to intimidate her enemies. Somehow its eye always looks in the same direction Ezelia is looking.

Fun fact: Ezelia was named after one of my favorite musicians, Ezel-Ash. They're mostly known for making arrangements of Touhou songs in a similar synth metal style to S.S.H., who they were inspired by. S.S.H. is also another favorite musician of mine.

The Break From Crimson character roadmap preview!

These are all snippets from old 2021 drawings. My art was pretty bad back then, so you'll probably never see these in full. I just wanted to give a teaser for some upcoming OCs that I plan to continue making updated drawings for!
