I was using Gemma 4 to categorize articles on Bredbox. Just tested using Jev: same results, 127x faster, 1/10th the cost.

Here's the tech stack for Bredbox (my Pocket clone):

🪶 Supabase for database + auth
⚡ Cloudflare Workers for the backend
🎨 Tailwind 4 for styling
⚛️ Preact for components
🌌 Astro as the app layer
🔗 Hono for API services

I'm enjoying it so far.

Pretty exciting day for Bredbox: the REST API just shipped. 🚀 Imagine if Pocket (rest in peace) had a REST API -- that's the vision. Available today to all users.

Bredbox still requires an invite as it's being stress-tested, and you can request an invite here:

Pretty excited to ship highlights on Bredbox! Now, finally, there's true feature parity with Pocket (web app) for interacting with your saves. I'm looking for some Pocket power users to give Bredbox a try. If that's you, sign up for an invite and then ping me directly.

Bredbox, my Pocket clone - two things to know:

1. Completely written by AI. Great test for upping my Copilot skills.
2. Starting with what Pocket provided, but I have lots of ideas to improve it.

I built the Bredbox prototype on Supabase exclusively, but found the storage, queues, and edge functions not quite to up to the task. Switching to Cloudflare.

Pretty excited about the Astro 6 Cloudflare integration. Running Astro inside of workerd so we can bind directly to other local workers is a huge productivity boost. Working on converting Bredbox now.

Remember, just because code works doesn't mean it's maintainable.

Copilot successfully implemented Redis caching for Bredbox, but the code is too difficult to follow. So, I'm redesigning it and putting Copilot to work implementing the new design.

One of the things I enjoyed about Pocket was the "discover" pages. I always found interesting stuff to read. So, I built it for Bredbox using Astro, Gemma 4, Supabase, and Redis.

Just migrated the metadata fetch queuing logic of Bredbox (my Pocket clone) from Supabase Edge Functions to Cloudflare Edge Workers. Really smooth transition. Love the Cloudflare local development experience.

Temporarily paused sending out new Bredbox invites after a user reported a large Pocket file failed to import. Got everything figured out and invites are going out again.

Finally got Astro 6 working with the Cloudflare adapter for Bredbox. It works with some gotchas, so I wrote up my learnings:

Pretty excited that both the Chrome and Firefox Bredbox extensions are now live! I'm now at 90% of how I used to use Pocket and there's still more to come. Check it out, and if you miss Pocket, sign up for an invite.

One thing I've been surprised to learn while building Bredbox is just how poor HTML structure is in the wild. I've seen <title> tags inside <body>, incorrect og:type, missing favicon <link> on just the homepage. It's a jungle out there.

This is one of the things I hate about the web: the SEO-ification of recipes. Bredbox fixes it.
There are a lot of great recipes online, but why do we have to scroll through all that other stuff first?

Bredbox fixes this by detecting recipes and pulling them out so you can get cooking faster.

Save the Recipe. Skip the Rest.
Use Bredbox Pro to connect your personal reading library to your own tools with a REST API, MCP server, webhooks, and n8n.

I built Bredbox on Supabase and I have some regrets. Without upgrading the npm package, they changed the Docker images and my whole local setup broke. Local setups should remain working as long as I don't change the package!

Pretty excited to launch collections on Bredbox! Getting very close to feature parity with Pocket for managing bookmarks. Next batch of invites going out soon.

Just sent out the next batch of invites to Bredbox! Had to fix a few bugs that popped up with the first batch of users before I felt comfortable about letting more in. Sign up for your invite here:

This is super weird. When I test Bredbox locally, it's able to correctly fetch and extract meta data from a YouTube URL. Once deployed to Cloudflare, I get nothing. (thinking emoji)

Just hit a milestone in Bredbox (my Pocket clone): Successfully imported my exported Pocket links CSV. I did not write a single line of code for this import feature. It was all AI. (head exploding emoji)

I used my persona-based AI approach to spec out the reader view in Bredbox (my Pocket clone), but used GPT-5 as the architect instead of Gemini 2.5 Pro. The result was a more detailed tech spec, and as a result, the feature basically worked* out of the box. (* missed installing a dependency)
