That seems like such a failure of planning from whoever approved the rolling stock. Even a 5 carriage train to Lincoln is overcrowded.
A bit like the Class 720s on Greater Anglia, 8 carriages used to fit at stations like Enfield Lock or Brimsdown, now if a 10 turns up, only 6 fit on the platform!
