The 1st nest had 16 Brook Lampreys then further upstream 2 more nests each with 3 lampreys. They were busy moving rocks to make their nest. These are the smallest and least rare of the 3 species of UK lamprey.

Surprised how much algae & how few fish we saw in the #RiverLark from Farthing Bridge, Icklingham, upstream for 1 km. This Brook Lamprey was heading upstream. Current still quite strong.
