The Bruckmandl is a small stone figure on the Steinerne Brücke in Regensburg, positioned at the bridge’s midpoint and facing the city’s cathedral with a hand shielding its eyes, as if observing. According to a local legend, the Bruckmandl represents the bridge’s architect, who made a pact with the devil to complete the bridge faster than the cathedral construction across the way. The figure is said to embody the anxious bridge builder, watching the cathedral’s progress to ensure he wins the bet.

Shucks how hot.
