I think a lot of it is down to the brushwork and subtlety you don't get from a photo.

It's possibly easier to understand if I say Van Gogh's Starry Night is even MORE impressive in person.

This is real honest to god AGI stuff. It’s learning to paint by simultaneously learning to control a robotic arm arm in three dimensions, while also using its internal knowledge of texts about painting to steadily develop sophisticated watercolour techniques on its brushwork.

This is the art I spent the most time on and was also the first one I worked on, I like it a lot more than the others and again it was used with a photo of my eye I took for some sort of spritesheet I was making ages ago - then I just posterised and painted over
