It's easy to forget how small Buitreraptor was, and how massive/forward-facing its eyes would have been. I don't think I quite captured that, but in my defense this was like a year after I started publicly sharing my #paleoart

Heron-ish raptor painting, loosely based around Buitreraptor. Caped and tri-color herons along with reddish egrets were the main inspirations.

Unenlagia comahuensis. A new portrait of this distinctly bird-like Argentinian dinosaur (the name means half-bird). In the absence of cranial remains I’ve based this on the closely related Austroraptor and Buitreraptor.

With the fish moving downstream, a family of Buitreraptor has no choice but to follow them, their trio catching Twig's interest as it spots them on the other side

#Buitreraptor ("The Vulture Raider") was a small carnivorous dinosaur from #Argentina 98mya. With its slender snout and a sickled toe claw on each foot, it belonged to the southern hemisphere family of raptors called Unenlagiidae. This is one of the smaller, lighter members of that family.
