This poor elephant. And the "trainers" using a bullhook to force him to walk. Another example why humans should leave animals alone to live their own lives in their natural environment unbothered by us. Just misery all around for them.

#VeerUpdate
Soft grass under his feet instead of hard concrete. Gentle voices guiding him instead of bullhook pokes. And small treats waiting every few steps along the way. That’s what Veer’s first walk with us looked like yesterday at our Elephant Hospital Campus (EHC), just days after his rescue.

Ginger spent six decades as a ‘begging’ elephant, her wounds hidden beneath paint, inflicted by a bullhook.
Today at Wildlife SOS, her bond with her caregiver reflects trust over trauma. While we can’t erase her past, we can give her what she always deserved: safety, compassion, and dignity.

Sanjay is one big boy. The true gentle giant of Wildlife SOS, he was rescued in 2017. Brutally treated as a begging elephant on the streets of Uttar Pradesh, he was traumatised, malnourished and covered in wounds from a bullhook. But look how magnificent he is now! #elephants #elephantrescue

Holly is shy, timid and blind. These vulnerabilities should allow her some kindness, but Holly’s owner was ruthless. She got endless blows from a bullhook to force her to keep walking. Her nightmare lasted 6 decades. Help us save all or India's begging elephants. wildlifesos.org/beg #elephants

I wish more people wake up to how elephants are treated for public venues and circuses alike.
This poor elephant had to relieve herself, which elephants stop to do, and the handler was jabbing behind her front leg with a bullhook to make her keep moving... 😢

The Texas GOP having an elephant at its convention means the Texas GOP enables animal abuse.
And @governorabbott governorabbott name is on the banner, which also means he condones and enables the abuse of an elephant.

😢 I seriously wish these Renaissance fairs/festivals would stop allowing Elephants for rides...
The elephants do not want to be there, around loud noise, constantly walking in circles under the threat of a bullhook...
I refuse to go to any events still allowing this bs.

is this man worth saving, o people of the US? does his life hold meaning, would you fight for it, people of the world? or is he just another elephant pocked with bullhook scars?

#YegZoo changed something in #Lucy, a piece of her has been forever changed by captivity.
A heart once whole, now scared & destroyed.
But an echo remains, deep in her soul that can be made whole again if she’s allowed to re-locate to #Sanctuary

I think I said it before but we genuinely need to start beating Bluesky staff with the bullhook, the crop is clearly not enough.
Bluesky says this label will leave in 22 days, so this seems like a punishment for some undisclosed bad behavior.

It seems that way. There's no bullhook marks and I can't see a chain, so the elephant seems cared for at least, which points to sanctuary.

The Crown Jewel of the Hi-Line! Good old Bullhook Bottoms.
Should be noted, though, that it has the same pop. as in 2010 but is 10% whiter

“Murderous Mary” was killed September 13, 1916 in TN. During a parade, Mary reached down to pick up a watermelon rind. Her keeper struck her head w his bullhook. This angered Mary, who grabbed him w her trunk & killed him. The first attempt to hang her failed bc the chain broke; the second didn’t 💔
