Now that I think about it, pretty much all of my adult friendships have been strangers I met on one part of the internet or another. Twitter and BumbleBFF mostly. And those friendships are years old now and still going. Me and one gal I found on Bumble just set a standing monthly BFF date.

Also BumbleBFF is an app for that. But really, maybe you need to volunteer for something you are passionate about. That’ll meet ppl who are passionate about the same stuff.

I weirdly enough found my best friend on BumbleBFF (it took talking to over 50 people over 6 months to find her but I did!) and I’ve never met a person I connected to so well as I do her. We’re still best friends after 3 years. Maybe something like that might help? I get the frustration for sure.

trying to make friends is fucking exhausting. i have lived in this town for almost 4 years...met tons of people in a variety of settings (work, lectures, networking, bumbleBFF), genuinely tried to form connections, and..nothing. i am clearly the problem here, somehow, but i have no idea what it is.

Back when I first moved to California I joined this app called Bumblebff and met a girl and now I’m the maid of honor in her wedding.
I made other acquaintances on there I could hang out with but that was the one connection forged that has lasted.

Im friendly to my neighbors but don’t have kids so that’s extra challenging in my area. I can’t join a running or a soccer club which hurts my heart so much. TBH hiking is likely out too.
