concord proved u cant just have bungie gunplay, u gotta have bungie art direction. ofc marathon has both those things and it wasnt enough. and thats because theres some third other bungie thing you need........................... a suit that jacks the main character off

The more time I spent at Bungie the more horror stories I heard about that fucker, and the more I became convinced his musical contributions were minimal at best.

Hi John. Appreciate the thought but as @legalminimum.bsky.social said in response to the thread, as someone who literally *was* Disney et al (general counsel at Pokemon, Bungie, etc), it's commercialization, not registration, that would be likely to trigger a meaningful legal response

Yeah a lot of times these companies will pretend that they can't go back but they definitely can.
Blizzard tried to say they couldn't go back to 6v6 in Overwatch 2 for "reasons", and Bungie said they couldn't recover vaulted content for Destiny (lmao)

I'm of the opinion that the motivation behind the destiny 2 unvaulting is fairly similar to this. given it's free and historically bungie has never put so much effort into pr before
this may actually be the best rationale for a remake i've ever read
