'Mary.' (c1920) Gertrude Fiske was an accomplished Impressionist painter who trained under Frank Benson. Perhaps not as well known as some of her contemporaries but considered to be at least the equal of Mary Cassatt. An essential figure in the history of women painters.

'The Rowing Boat.' (c1920) William John Leach often painted works capturing a fleeting moment in bold, vibrant colour. Despite the title, it wasn't the small rowing boat that inspired him but the shadows on the bend in the river and the dramatic dark and light in the water.

'Lighthouse at Dusk.' (c1920) Of all the personalities in the first art colony at St. Ives in Cornwall, Julius Olsson, was certainly the most dominant and influential. Largely self-taught, he became the most renowned marine painter of his generation for views such as this.
