a year later again at cafe internationaal my soul went back a year and returned to its body like a boomerang the past moves like the tide when the waters recede, the things you want to remember and forget appear the years that have passed are always next to you they are as close as the glass on the table the remaining years are beyond border of the words the year that is ending blesses the new year I’m a boomerang that can travel through time I’m a boomerang that can sneak onto planes I’m a boomerang that can imitate birds I’m a boomerang can be hidden in the clouds the road and the pilgrim skin and bone paper and tobacco things that wrap each other this pub wraps me such as like this laughters blow up in the air the first sip of Guinness the taste from the foam of the first sip that first taste that blesses you like a spirit that vanishes into the glass after the second sip lovely wind that turns umbrellas inside out! Turn me inside out as well puddles formed by the rain blessed by the birds I also want to be a puddle on the sidewalk no season will disappear tourists will come and bless I am a beautiful song, I end and I begin again I am a bird that longs for distant places laughter in the air attracts each other like magnets they’re clinging to one another and growing inside the pub today is my last day the law never changes; everything comes to an end there is no resisting the inevitable just as the eyes cannot resist sleep my last night in Amsterdam the last puff of my cigarette the last puff of my cigarette, blessing everything that is coming to an end
