Developer Nextale has released an update for its demo of isometric tactical RPG Calame. The update to the demo, available on Steam, adds a new playable faction, a new Camp hub, and various visual and gameplay refinements. In addition, the developer announced that it is partnering with Shine Publishing and Radical Theory as co-publishers for the game. It is currently planned to release for PC later this year, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions following in 2027. Calame is set in realm of Westalia, where players lead a rebellion against the tyrannical King of Light. Players customise their army with melee specialists, ranged fighters, mages, and support classes, including level-ups, skill unlocks, and legendary gear. The game also includes a reactive choice system where decisions made during conversations and events can directly alter the Rebellion’s political alignment and grant passive traits that reshape playstyles, faction relationships, and the story.
