This is wild. Like restoring a movie by changing all the camerwork and editing.
I'm retouching strips for Hogan's Alley #25. A friend suggested I use AI to restore the work. I said no, but I was curious to see what it would do, so I sent him a sample. The top is the restored source material, and the bottom is the AI "restoration."

After Bellisma (1951), another one from the "100 Italian films to be saved", courtesy of Arte: Two Cents Worth of Hope (1952). Charming, energetic romantic comedy directed and co-written by Renato Castellani. Neo-realism, but (as is often the way) artfully cut together with busy, fluid camerwork.

Grant Bowler's scene in Blue Heelers is sexy not just because it involves a uniformed man stripped down to his undies but how the director and camerwork further objectify him in how it seems to gaze at his assets.

It had been relatively smooth steady camerwork up to this point, and now it looks like we're in full on 90s indie mode, which only helps the overall look of the whole piece. This one has surprised me, but I expected to be surprised.

Not seeing enough talk about RELAY. Terrific, low-key thriller about a middleman between corporations and regretful whistleblowers. A less patient THE CONVERSATION or MICHAEL CLAYTON... not in their league, but still a fantastically tense paranoid thriller. Aces camerwork throughout.

There needs to be a dogme 95 movement with Kung fu movies. stationary cameras, no shot under one second, at least 2/3rds of the bodies visible in every shot

A heartfelt ode to man's best friend as well as an original horror flick with an ingenious concept, #GoodBoy has a haunting atmosphere, creepy scares, creative camerwork, and one of the best dog performances I've ever seen. It stands on all fours as one of the better horror films of 2025. #filmsky

even with the terrible lighting/camerwork, a good gaming monitor would not be looking washed out like that...it's either got terrible viewing angles, or he's messed up the HDR/color settings. THIS IS BASIC STUFF.

I really like Cary's camerwork in this look at King Kong, especially putting a camera right on the table to show all the tunnels and stuff you can't easily see from above.
