Defeat at Sligo Rovers last week ended a run of four consecutive wins for Derry City. However, the club have responded by strengthening their defensive options after securing a third permanent arrival of the summer transfer.  On the same day that the Candystipes confirmed influential defender Kevin Holt has moved back to Scotland, the club have brought in an adequate replacement to boost their defensive options.
