Capacitors one section at a time and sending hot licks of pleasure pooling between his legs. Megatron bending low to growl a quick command for Optimus to stop his incessant writhing and open himself up fully. Optimus doesn’t even know what that means, he’s so overwhelmed arching his spinal strut and

I got a new Dell monitor today and as it's heating up it's releasing that early-2000's new Mac smell (warming capacitors, plastic, etc). Haven't smelled that in a long time...

Unplug it for a while @uptownone.bsky.social ? Maybe discharge the capacitors and see if it … smartens up.

Like when you talk about capacitors here, I think you're talking about objects with significant electrochemical action? They do have extremely long lifetimes at extreme C values, but these are not pure capacitors

i'm definitely going to need some a-synth-stance #synthsky #musicsky

Try not to think of something like a 500 farad capacitor, and more of millions of 5 farad capacitors. (Which are still fucking huge.)

all the little capacitors and transistors are crying...

Radio Shack Trivia: all those pegs in the photo full of capacitors, resistors, connectors, and other components were known as "force feed". Why? Because if you sold enough of a specific item to fall below the minimum quantity more would be sent to your store - you'd be "force fed" the product.
Man... If only I were alive in the 70s. Radio Shack somewhat looked like this in the 90s, but not like this

Most common cause of failure on monitors is bad filter capacitors, which aren't that expensive usually.

Old rotary capacitors with an air dielectric – a retro gallery
Three vintage dual-section air-variable capacitors reveal the mechanical tuning hardware that once sat at the heart of radio receivers. Shared shafts move rotor plates between stator plates, increasing capacitance with overlap and simultaneously tuning two circuits. All three capacitors use two sections on a common shaft, while notched, bendable outer plates allow capacitance-curve alignment between coupled circuits. The examples differ in construction: one uses an oval front flange, another ceramic stator insulators and rubber-sleeved brackets, and two use visible ball bearings. Their original receiver models remain unidentified; one unit carries a “КТ” stamp and an illegible marking. Full article on the elektroda homepage.

whenever I am watching at a video where someone is talking about capacitors (so, often because I like watching electronic repair videos, I find them soothing, I like the act of repair and restoration and bringing things back to functionality again), I tend to hear "micro farad" as "micro ferret"

These stations are series capacitors, their main function is to reduce the line reactance (think 'resistance, but electromagnetic') and its corresponding voltage drop, allowing greater power transfer. They can stabilize transient response, but they're not really for 'frequency smoothing'.

I promise I’m still making videos, just been sidetracked lately with a kitchen remodel and dealing with lots of these kinda shenanigans.

Date yourself with your first computer.

Some custom built PC, had Windows 98, an AMD Athlon XP 1400 or 1700+ found out over a decade later this was underclocked lmao

The machine in storage, it needs new capacitors!!

First PC I played Guild Wars 1 on in 2009 for like an hour lol
Date yourself with your first computer

Probably some different model but I remember the big tower of beige strongly 💕

Pretty sure we had 98 Plus! as I remember Windows Media Player 7 with the windows ME skin, and playing Spider Solitaire.

This is a longshot but does anyone know of any people/places who can replace the component video encoding capacitors on a Wii in North NJ? Mine needs its caps to be replaced as they've completely degraded...
