Our 1968 MGB GT is finished in Tartan red and has a black interior with red piping. It has a 1798cc B-Series engine, paired with a manual gearbox and is accompanied by an extensive history file. As the file contains the car’s heritage certificate, we can see that it was built in October 1968 before being sent to Byers Garages Limited in Sunderland. It was then registered as LBR 706G on 1st November 1968. It left the factory in Tartan Red with black trim and red piping, and also had a heater along with Dunlop tyres, and wire wheels. Also in the history file is paperwork and photographs relating to a substantial restoration earlier in the car’s life completed by MG Mecca. This particular MGB GT first became known to us in August 2024 when it came into the Bridge Classic Cars workshop after developing a coolant leak. Our technicians found a deteriorated hose, replaced the affected cooling and heater hoses, topped up the system and carried out final checks. While it was with us, some damage to the lower front panel was also repaired and painted. Our 1998 Caterham Seven has the 1.8-litre Rover K-Series VVC engine, producing around 150bhp. As it only weighs around 550kg, it gives you a driving experience that modern performance cars would struggle to replicate. This particular example has been exceptionally well cared for throughout its life. It has a black interior with leather seats, red four-point harnesses, and a classic Momo steering wheel. Unlike some Seven builds, this Roadsport-spec car also has a full windscreen, heater, and weather equipment, making it a much more usable and enjoyable car for road driving.
