Aa a snarky teenager I had no interest in seeing Jurassic Park (part 3 ended up being the first one I saw). But in '93 I rented shit out of Carnosaur!

Day 84 of reposting Medusa's one big guy until Kamigawa TitanBreach

Hear me out: Mike Flanagan should actually do a CARNOSAUR movie.
Mike Flanagan wants to make a JURASSIC WORLD movie.

"A JURASSIC movie could be a blast," Flanagan tells a fan on Reddit this week.

"I’d want to go really scary with it," he adds. "A true dinosaur horror film would be a blast"

CARNOSAUR, Harry Adam Knight
Valancourt Books, 2022 (1984)
A pulpy, British Dino-thriller that beat Jurassic Park to the punch by over half a decade. Its grasp of actual science borders on the nonexistent, but it’s a fun, fast, gory tale that warmed my heart. 💙📚

I legit love CARNOSAUR 2

"the eden formula" is... not very good... even by the low standards of "carnosaur" and "carnosaur"-adjacent film productions. but it does have some adorable, puppety homages to "the beast from 20,000 fathoms".

you can't have characters like diane ladd from "carnosaur" in movies anymore because like the ceo of the company that owns the chat api for your fucking shopify beans store is diane ladd from "carnosaur".

i appreciate that "carnosaur 3" or "primal species" or whatever sets up a bunch of straight-to-video '90s-cool terrorist bad guys... and that then the dinosaurs just kinda immediately eat them.

We already have a true dinosaur horror film. It was called Carnosaur. It wasn't great but it still had more respect for the viewer than Oculus.
