#carping
civilization is potable water and an education system, so if anyone starts carping about how we need to be defending civilization ask them about those and what they are doing to get them funded and maintained

I get that oppostions have to oppose and pensioners vote, but the widespread 'attack on the triple lock' response to a proposed change is depressing.

I suppose Labour did something similar in opposition, constantly carping about the tax burden while knowing they'd have to increase taxes.

Imagine the toady Blanche carping about partisanship?

the same media who were constantly carping about Biden's doddering

I agree. At last someone bold enough to say the unsayable things. Exposes the negative, bigoted carping of the right.

I understand your suspicion. But you are damning Jeffries without having any knowledge of the context nor details of the meeting.

Given we are under assault by fascists and predatory billionaires, I will ask you once again to FOCUS ON THE ENEMY. Any single Blue vote lost due to such carping is bad.

FFS! @news.sky.com really do pick them. Tonight it was another 'brain of Britain' in the form of Michelle Donelan, former Tory minister.
When discussing Burnham mentioning #Brexit she was carping on about not disregarding the 'democratic' vote of 2016. …1/

I see, you've been carping about this Gladwell book for a few days.

Quit carping about this
September 29, 2026 at 6:55 PM
Yes. Public discourse these days is just people carping from the sidelines.

Of course rejoining will take ages and be really difficult, it might take decades, but it is inevitable because it's bleeding obviously the right thing to do.

Ed Davey has had a terrible few weeks. He's not a politician of substance but a lightweight carping on the margins.
Bit sad, really.

That's what I'm struggling with, Starmer did all the hard work, it seems Burnham made a great speech and well done him but the constant carping about Starmer is just making me angry again.

He won't, that's his M.O. it's all he's got. Carping from the side line then walking away from the riot, the scene of crime.
September 29, 2026 at 6:20 AM
I mean, it's good to see you've grown with the times and such, but you already demonstrated that admirably with works like PRIDE & JOY and THE WAR. The mid-2010s called. They want this whole brand of low-hanging fruit carping back. It already wasn't that clever back then.

You know, if you *really* cared about the wellbeing of women in college, instead of carping about the statistically insignificant number of trans athletes in sports minding their own business, you’d be railing against these Cornell fraternity cretins who drugged and gang-raped a passed-out women:

It's somewhat funny how broken childish fairyland, sick trash England in the 70's to mid 90's is now America, but writ even lazier...acting Infantile, gets you Infantile actions and crimes...you fucking sick gits. God. Stop. Dumbass creatures carping on. You're broken. You're Sick. Can't Be Fixed.

Taylor Swift's fine and I like some Todd Rundgren songs, but this kind of thinking's why I tune out people when they start carping about TS having no musical ability. It's way too adjacent to "Girls have shit music taste, so if they like it it's bad, and if they don't like it they're stupid."
This is both disgusting and the underlying reality of how a lot of people think about Taylor’s supposed “mediocrity” and you can’t convince me otherwise

(from an interview with Todd Rungren, today’s candidate for the smallest man who ever lived)

Instead of carping, Liz, why don't you talk about what you're doing about it?
September 26, 2026 at 1:30 AM
I read he was wiping his eyes and appeared to be crying in court. Aww! Carping about his pregnant Mrs, he should have thought of that before.

The tosh press must find something to undermine Burnham. Constant carping, unfounded rumour and lies did for Starmer...
September 25, 2026 at 7:29 PM
It is very biased to distinguish between things that are categorically different. The New York Times lives by this credo and will listen to no niggling carping by partisan series fans who are only mad at it because it is so fair.
September 25, 2026 at 6:03 PM
Peter Jones probably should've said carping yourself. #dragonsden

Inspired by recent Gen X carping about the state of film: things aren't "worse" than they were 20-30 years ago. You're just getting older. As you begin to contemplate your death you crave the comfort of the familiar & romanticize the art of your youth. You're not unique; every generation does this.

What in the fuck? Liberal democracies always "evolve" into fascism? That is some stupid shit right there. Any government can devolve into fascism if the conditions are right......and by the way, anachists help fucking nobody....they just sit on the side carping like a vulture.
