OMG. John Oliver's show on public broadcasting last night and the clips of Joel McHale shilling for British comedy on KCTS-9 (now CascadePBS) is hitting my Seattle and PBS nostalgia *hard* and not necessarily in good ways.
(I did my first PBS pledge drive on KCTS. They didn't train me so I was bad.)

Just sitting here in the dark, on a lonely Friday night, watching Hope Street on @cascadepbs.bsky.social. I only get 5 channels and I am so grateful #PBS is one of them.

You can't take it away #PedoPresidentTrump. Please, do cry more, you evil sack of excrement. #YouFucker

Our CEO made $471,105 in 2023, nearly 7X the average Cascade PBS journalist’s salary. His 2023 bonus alone would have made him one of the highest paid workers in the newsroom today.

Our union members are struggling to make ends meet. @cascadepbs agree to a #FairContract. Sign our petition. 🔗 in bio

So thankful for thoughtful, gentle shows chock full of animals & babies, like @pbs.org’s “Call The Midwife” & “All Creatures Great & Small.” Such mid-20th century period dramas engage* my mom, living with #dementia, as she sees herself in stories set in her younger days.

*…and I like ‘em, too!
