"At its core, the Bill unravels decades of environmental safeguards ... It sends a clear signal: it’s acceptable to destroy habitats and species, so long as you pay for it." Please say NO to #CashToTrash

The Planning Bill still weakens vital protections for nature.

A central levy can’t replace local, science-led safeguards.

It risks trashing habitats today on the promise of restoration tomorrow.

Nature deserves better.

Don't let them pay #CashToTrash the wildlife and wild places you love 📢

Right now, the Government is making a new law that will weaken environmental protections and put nature at risk. We can't let this happen, which why we're asking you to speak up! Please share this post NOW. ⚠️

"In its latest response to the Government’s changes yesterday, the OEP was unequivocal: even after the amendments, the bill would still reduce environmental protection.#

"The Planning and Infrastructure Bill, as it stands, is still regressive."

The amendments are a small shift forward, but they don’t change the big picture. This is still a bad bill for nature – just slightly less damaging than before.

Would a local @the-wildlifetrusts.bsky.social not be interested? They seem to have bought areas of land to preserve for reserves around my area? #CASHTOTRASH

The House of Lords saw the dangers of this and amended the Government’s Planning and Infrastructure Bill to minimise the risks of the #CashToTrash system and include new protections for chalk streams.
Email your MP. Amendment 130 would make sure the new planning systems works for, not against nature.demand they keep amendment 130 in the Bill
It's now or never. This is the last chance to protect nature in the Planning and Infrastructure Bill. Email your MP to keep amendment 130 in the Bill.
