#castellated
On a walk around #Conwy yesterday, I spotted something I hadn't noticed before. This magnificent #Gothic railway arch, built in 1840, through the #Medieval walls. It even continues the castellated parapet! Zoom in, and you can see where bits were chipped away as trains got bigger! #photograph #photo

it turns out they’re called castellated nuts because they look like castles?? “castellate” just means “make look like a castle”??? I’m so mad about this

Got curious about the castellated parapet so I found a pic where the crenellation is a bit easier to see (Copyright Richard Croft CC BY-SA 2.0)

The CM0 is a Pi Zero 2 W, except in stamp form, with castellated edges, so it's easier to pick and place and solder to another PCB.

It's only being sold in China currently, for integration into OEM products.

Castle Mountain, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.

Castle is the easternmost mountain of the Main Ranges in the Bow Valley and sits astride the Castle Mountain Fault. It was named in 1858 by James Hector for its castellated shape.

Hello there, Raspberry Pi CM0. EDAtec sent this to me from China. Unfortunately you can't get these anywhere else! It's basically a Pi Zero 2 W, but in SoM form. And it has castellated edges so it can be pick 'n placed right onto PCBs.

St Munna’s Church • Westmeath

This unusually fortified church is thought to have been originally constructed around the mid-15th century. It served as a medieval parish church. Its defences hint at the unsettled and dangerous period of its construction.

Empires come and empires go, leaving signs of former power. The winged lion of St Mark can be seen in many places about the Mediterranean, telling of the once dominant trading & military power that was Venice. One day, the spouting vanity of today’s tyrants will be but dust, and history their judge.
