We got some catgrass, because the cats have almost certainly never had it before.
The cats: What's this? Oh, it's grass? Yeah, we know about grass. Grass is what you eat when the bugs are too hard to catch. This had better not be the treat you promised us.

Velvet Claw Catgrass is in FULL PRODUCTION 🌱 Planter #1 (day 6) is coming up like a lawn, and the next pot is already sprouting right behind it. One grazing, one growing — the rotation is real. - Arlo, Co-CEO #velvetclawcatgrass

The vast majority of catgrass is ordinary wheatgrass, I think, but I’m not actually sure what a good replacement would be that’s easy to grow but also cat-friendly.

Could maybe use some grass recommendations, as my "growing catgrass for the cats" project has run into repeated snags. I think I've got a decent set of planters now but the seed I bought has been giving a poor germination rate.

I just realized I never posted my farm map on here! This is printed at the front of my latest book, Fallow Till We Bloom. The map is by no means needed to understand the story, but I love a good map!
This commission was done by the incredible @sagamack.bsky.social. Thanks, Saga!

(Supervised. It’s a small and well enclosed patio. He likes being outside but he’s obsessed with eating plants and if he eats any amount he breaks out in a rash. Even catgrass.)

I've been watching this green stuff grow for days. Time to investigate if it's tasty! 🌿 #Mury #CatGrass #CatLife #Exploring #CatSky

We have an apartment cat in our neurodivergent household, Zuko. He is great but went through an upset stomach stage which was quite difficult. We got low to the ground pots of catgrass and catnip which he now eats regularly, no more issues.
