Among comic people and writers here I do see a lot of people going on about what they hate in fiction (notmally romance) or types of aesthetics/sexualities/whatever. It's just speading discoursging, bad feels that reaches others for their negative socail media cathartis.

This is great self check for me and Bipolar. I know we hate doomerism, and should, but despair is a real feeling I have to struggle through. I feel like the getting mad all the time functions as a cathartis for feeling powerlessness.
a rule ive broadly implemented on bluesky is to simply block anyone who seems to spend every day finding a reason to be Mad Online. doesn't matter what the topic is, just don't want that energy

Just don't insult people is probably a fair response in a perfect world to that but sometimes it's a form of cathartis similar to yelling a swearword

I am so cheering for them tho. I want them to reach a point where Eustace can simply crash and unwind through crying, and Kay can just pet him and hold him without panicking with him. Want her to ask him while cleaning him up "how was the cathartis? Feel good?" and for him to go wobbly "yeah"

I only read other people's reviews, haha. Though only in two scenarios: if I *hated* a book and need the cathartis or if I'm flagging on a series and want to find out if it's worth continuing / find out how it ends.

It’s not a challenging read, meant to challenge the reader into thinking, and it’s quite possible the intended audience are people that need to be tricked into thinking about the present state of the world, wrapped up in violence and gore and cathartis. It’s taking advantage of the moment to sell
