#NorthernIreland could be said to have an unhealthy obsession with religion, so I'm bound to find things to post this week.

The ivy covered ruins of Dunboe Old Church, surrounded by a graveyard with old headstones still standing. It's said that St Patrick established a church on this site. There was definitely a church here in 1291, which had probably existed since the late 12th century. Repairs were carried out to the building in 1622 by the Clothworker's Company - one of the London Livery Companies involved in the colonisation of Co Derry during the 17th century. The church was abandoned in 1691 when a new church was built in the nearby village of Articlave.

Some steps with a chrome handrail in the centre and stone walls on either side. There are pink flowers along the top of one wall. Going down the steps, you cross a road at the bottom and then the path leads to the harbour wall. A small blue roofed building built on the harbour wall is currently used as a café.

Portstewart Strand a National Trust property. Cars have access to the beach, charged £8.50/car.
The Strand is 2 miles long, ending at the Barmouth where the river Bann enters the sea. Beyond the river the beach continues as Castlerock Beach.
