well, i finally cracked and looked up wtf roko’s basilisk is and somehow, unbelievably, a lot of very wealthy men are about a thousand times more pathetic than i previously assessed.

there's strong similarities to peekabooïsm, esp. wrt informed autodelulu; but i've taken to calling it caverunning because it's more specific and meaner.

topically related; as someone who finds the term enshittification to be both incomplete and an easy target for the decency police: the great spoliation machine, and the spoliation nexus have a lot of explanatory power and will be joining turbolooting and caverunning as descriptors.
Something else to add to the backlash to the Andreeson Manifesto is the reality that there will likely be a gaping hole in the historical record in these years as both tech glitches and intentional record erasures erase important traces.
