Canadians will now pay twice for this oil shock (the 14th since 1973): 1st at the pumps, and now through higher interest rates as Bank of Cda hikes. Bank admits Cda has excess capacity, but lifts rates anyway. Monetary tightening to fight an external price shock: why? #cdnecon /2

🟡 StatCan: August GDP flat, September advance -0.1%. Q3 ~1.3% vs BoC's ~2%.

Caveat: manufacturing rose 0.3%. Wholesale (-1.4%) did the damage, so not tariffs alone.

Long game: diversify. Short game: mitts on.
