#fatfurgala 2025 #ceaectrlart
an illustration of a huge purple alligator dressed in a fashionable casual outfit with a subtle fantasy theme. they wear a tee shirt with a mismatched scarlet and cream stripe pattern, quilted trousers reminiscent of medieval padded armor, and a pair of stylish casual leather boots. they also carry a large cube-ish duffel bag that seems more like a handbag compared to the gator's large stature. they wear a woven leather bracelet on one wrist and a large wood bead bracelet on the other. the end of a jeweled woven leather belt peeks out from under their large belly. the alligator stands coolly and regards the viewer with a toothy smile. other folks on the sidewalk are dwarfed by the gator. a smaller skink stands by the gator with a jovial expression. a canine and snake can be seen in the background. text on the illustration lists the brands and names of some of the clothing and accessories. text in the bottom-right corner reads "Fat Fur Gala 2025, Urban Fantasy".

fantasy musical instruments and musical mages. based on a vague dream where i was playing a "bassoon". when i woke up i could vaguely remember the construction of the mouthpiece. the instrument was designed around that and then the mages were designed around the instrument.

may 2024
an illustration and diagram of a fantasy magical musical instrument. it is a woodwind instrument that somewhat resembles a dulcian, the precursor to the modern bassoon. the main body seems to be constructed of segments of hardwood and is sharply folded in on itself. the mouthpiece and bell of the instrument feature carved stone construction. the bell of the center example features a carved dragon head and the second example features a carved ram's head. the ram's head also features an inset gem in the forehead. a note reads "stone focuses spell casting of most magics". on the left of the image there is a fingering diagram numbered 1 through 10 from high to low pitch. there are two descriptions next to the diagram. one reads: "keywork might differ between instruments. the higher-pitched or simpler examples may have no keywork." and the other has an arrow pointing to a lower middle joint or bracket on the instrument and reads "neck strap may attach here or instrument may be held in a cloth sling". below the fingering diagram there is an inset photo of a notebook page which has rough pencil sketches of diagrams and notes taken of the instrument's mouthpiece construction upon waking up. text on the corner of the sketch page reads "dreamed i was playing a 'bassoon'." a monochrome illustration of two mages with two of the musical instruments. text reads "consort mage". the mage on the left is an anthropomorphic raccoon calmly blowing into the instrument, showing proper posture of playing. the mage on the right is an anthropomorphic fox with two earrings in each ear. they hold the instrument resolutely and stares coldly at the viewer. both mages wear layered and tasseled robes, small breastplates that double as a harness to strap the instrument to, and basic front-only greaves and poleyns on the legs. they both seem to have cloth wrapped around their snouts. the instruments both feature carved stone gryphon heads. a monochrome illustration of an old mage with the musical instrument. text reads "grand consort mage". the mage is an older anthropomorphic wolf. they seem to be in a somewhat hunched, cagey pose and observes the viewer with a weary gaze. they wear layered mage robes, more complex cuirass and pauldrons, and a large pointed wizard hat. a cloth strip is wrapped around their snout. the instrument they wield is large and more complex than the previous examples. it features an elaborately carved stone dragon head on the bell, leather wrappings, engraved fixtures and brackets, and a large tassel at its base.

tree by the waterside, 2024
a digital black and white line drawing in a style reminiscent of 19th century metal engraved illustrations. in this scene, a small tree growing at the edge of a bank lightly leans over the waterside. a small raccoon lazily rests in the tree in the central bow of the branches. a cat rests at the roots of the tree in the grassy area right in front of the water. an alligator gently peeks its head out above the water in the foreground of the scene. suggestions of hills, clouds, and a mountainside appear in the far background.
