Black-and-white photograph of the interior of abandoned fertilizers factory SITOCO in Orbetello, Italy, dominated by a large, rusting industrial machine positioned beside a narrow inspection pit running along the floor. The space shows heavy deterioration: the rough concrete ground is cracked and dusty, while the lower walls reveal exposed brickwork where plaster has fallen away. On the right, a rectangular window with a rounded top lets in intense natural light, creating strong contrast and highlighting the textures of decay on the surrounding wall. The ceiling above is composed of wooden beams and corrugated roofing panels, many darkened and weathered, with visible damage and sagging elements. In the background, an open doorway leads into another section of the building, partially illuminated and revealing more industrial structures. Thin branches or vines intrude near the window, suggesting nature slowly reclaiming the space. The monochrome treatment emphasizes contrast, shadows, and the aged surfaces, giving the scene a dramatic, almost archival feel that underscores abandonment and the industrial past.

Exterior view of the abandoned former Montecatini SITOCO fertilizer factory in Orbetello, seen from across a calm water channel that reflects the industrial buildings and surrounding vegetation. A long row of brick factory sheds stretches into the distance along the left side of the image, each marked by a repeating sawtooth roofline and large arched windows. The roofs show visible deterioration, with missing sections, damaged skylights, and vegetation growing along the edges. Dense shrubs, climbing plants, and reeds have spread across the former industrial waterfront, partially obscuring the lower portions of the buildings. Near the center-right, a distinctive multi-story industrial structure rises above the complex on tall concrete supports, its upper floors enclosed by large windows, many of them damaged or missing. In the foreground, marsh vegetation emerges from the shallow water, creating small islands of reeds and grasses. The still surface mirrors the brick facades and pale sky, contrasting with the decay of the industrial complex. The muted winter tones of brick, concrete, water, and vegetation emphasize the atmosphere of abandonment. The image highlights the relationship between industry and landscape within the former SITOCO complex, where the architecture of fertilizer production now stands silent amid the wetlands of the Orbetello lagoon.

A long, perspective view inside an abandoned fertilizer factory. A central conveyor belt, covered in dust and moss, stretches into the far distance under a high wooden gable roof with exposed trusses. The interior is flanked by crumbling white brick walls, with sunlight streaming through gaps in the structure and broken windows. Debris, wooden planks, and fragments of the building are scattered across the floor.

Interior of the abandoned Sitoco Montecatini fertilizer factory workshops in Orbetello, centered on a large rusted industrial lathe positioned in the middle of a decaying room. The machine, covered in corrosion and dust, is still intact, with visible gears, levers, and metal rails extending horizontally across its length. Behind the lathe, tall multi-pane industrial windows line the wall, many partially broken and heavily overgrown with dense vegetation that pushes inside, surrounding the machinery. Sunlight filters through the glass and foliage, casting soft, irregular patches of light and shadow across the tiled floor. The walls and structural columns show extensive deterioration, with peeling plaster exposing underlying brickwork. The floor is cracked and scattered with debris, dirt, and plant growth creeping inward, blending the interior with the exterior environment. The scene highlights the progressive takeover of nature within an industrial workspace, where the abandoned machinery of chemical production contrasts with the organic spread of greenery.

A straight-on, medium shot of an abandoned electrical control panel inside the Sitoco Montecatini fertilizer factory in Orbetello. The grey, weathered metal console stands against a decaying concrete wall covered in black graffiti tags. The panel features numerous analog dials, switches, and sockets, mounted on a teal-painted metal frame with the faded Italian text 'APPARECCHI DI MISURE E CONTROLLO' visible at the bottom. The concrete floor is scattered with dirt, debris, and dry brambles. To the left, wild green bushes and thorny vines creep into the frame from a broken window, while a sharp, narrow beam of sunlight cuts through from the right, illuminating the gritty texture of the wall.

A long, vanishing-point perspective inside an abandoned fertilizer factory with a massive timber-framed structure. The interior is dominated by heavy wooden beams and trusses supporting a high, gabled roof. To the right, a long, rusted industrial conveyor belt with rollers extends deep into the shadows of the warehouse. The floor in the foreground is partially missing, revealing a wooden grid over a dark void below. Dusty sunlight streams through windows on the right and gaps in the wooden siding on the left, creating a dramatic interplay of light and shadow. A weathered electrical box is mounted on a wooden pillar in the foreground. The atmosphere is silent and cavernous.

A panoramic interior photograph of a very large, abandoned industrial warehouse, likely a former fertilizer plant. The massive space features a multi-tiered wooden truss roof and ceiling structure, showing significant deterioration, with parts of the ceiling falling in and light filtering through gaps. The walls are made of aged brick with larger, weathered wooden panels on the left. The expansive dirt floor is overgrown with wild green plants, weeds, and mixed with debris of rotted wood and rubble. Multiple large, glassless window frames line the far wall, through which more overgrown vegetation and diffused daylight are visible. In the right foreground, piles of broken wood and general refuse are accumulated. The overall atmosphere is dark, cavernous, and heavily decayed.

External view of an abandoned fertilizer factory situated along a still waterway. A long row of stone buildings with gabled roofs and arched windows reflects in the dark water, which is dotted with clumps of marsh grass. In the background, a taller, multi-story industrial concrete structure with a rounded roof stands on pillars. Dense wild vegetation and bushes grow along the bank, partially obscuring the base of the stone warehouses under a pale, overcast sky.

A vast, dimly lit interior of an abandoned fertilizer factory. The massive structure is built with heavy dark wood beams and pillars, chosen for their resistance to chemical corrosion. Golden sunlight filters through gaps in the wooden slat walls and a high skylight, illuminating the dusty, earthen floor. The complex timber framework of the ceiling creates a rhythmic pattern of shadows across the cavernous, empty workspace.
