This evening's #Saturn. Ring still appears pretty close to edge-on. 1000 x 30 ms Ha 35 nm in Celeston 8" at f/10.
Gray-white circular disk of Saturn against black background. The ring apears as a relatively faint horizontal gray line crossing the planet and extending outwards. On the disk itself the ring shadow appears as a darker horizontal line directly above the ring.

This is another #Celeston themed sketch that I made. I want to turn this into an illustration. I don’t know what hand I’ll end up using for the final illustration, so I have a couple of options I’m debating between.

Have spent a LONG time trying to puck a spotting-style telescope to look at the view when on holiday. Have concluded review sites talk out their arse. One classes the Celeston Ultimata100 as the best for astronomy; another says it struggles beyond 200yds. I understand stars are a BIT further away..?
