Getting ER training tomorrow. I rarely work without someone in the building who's ER certified, but I know they prefer managers to be able to act as backups just in case. Every once in a while an emergency happens - manager cert is only for animals untreatably suffering, if advised by vet on call.

I contact the vendor who tells me, for lack of better words; "We don't do certs, sucks to suck, work with your internal cert manager."
And the internal cert manager says "Just get a new cert from your vendor."
And this argument happens right up until and then after the cert expires and it's chaos.

Turns out it only takes a few steps to make a k8s cluster homey:
* Install cert-manager, ingress-nginx, onepassword operator, csi-s3, metrics-server
* Create DynamoDB tables for external-dns
* Install external-dns and cert-manager issuers
* Create a DNSEndpoint for the loadbalancer
* deploy shit!

I’ve had a pretty tough year this year. KubeCon, & the thought of being away from family, was quite daunting and scary.
