#ClimateChange means I have a confused garden. Warm weather plants are fruiting before cool weather plants and other abnormalities….At least I have plenty of food for pollinators and wildlife visiting my #UrbanHomestead, also a #CertifiedWildlifeHabitat and #MonarchWaystation.

Dolores is alive!! 🌿

My garden is a nurturing and healing form of art and expression. This sapling was a gift from a friend and I’m excited to see it survived the winter despite being chomped down to almost nothing and buried in 4 feet of snow.

They finally stopped by! We regularly hear a great horned owl and multiple barred owls. With the seasonal daytime support of a broadwing and northern harrier, they are our rodent control brigade. Birdseed happens. (photo brightened) #Owl #certifiedwildlifehabitat #Minnesota

This is one of the reasons I have an abundance of critters in my yard. I’ve been 100% organic for over 16 years, and my yard is a #CertifiedWildlifeHabitat. The criteria for this is self-reported and on the honor system. See if you qualify: www.nwf.org/garden

One of my pollinators yesterday. Snow squarestem bush. Melanthera readily reseeds in my garden. This year I moved them around the yard for best effect. Salt and Pepper plant attracts a hoarde of varied pollinators. #northfloridagardening #certifiedwildlifehabitat #certifiedbutterflyhabitat #natives

This was taken a few years ago when an herd came right next to our ranch house for apples on our tree. She had a calf with her. They had no fear of us but did stomp a hoof for a warning. The window is right next to this tree. #certifiedwildlifehabitat #homesteadlife #wildlife #throwbackthursday

I have old cars in my yard that need to go. I will miss them. So will the groundhog family who has lived under the Cordoba since 1998.
I know I’m wrong for wanting to keep an old car just for animal habitat, but it feels so right.
