khan can speedsolve cubes but i don’t think he uses like CFOP or roux algorithms i think he uses something ridiculously esoteric like Hexagonal Francisco

Getting sub 60 secs without CFOP is hard! But i shaved off my record of 3:35 mins to 2:21 with just the beginner method !! I got lots to learn to achieve this goal….

decided i need more hobbies so i took up speedcubing again :) its really fun, i forgot how much i like it. best time rn is 1:31, but previously i got 52 secs using beginner method (ill learn CFOP eventually).

CFOP method is most widely used.
You can solve a cube with as little as 3 algorithms as well (technically, this would he the classic method for blindfolded solving, but still works).
Beginner CFOP is ~15 algorithms I think.
(Learn intuitive f2l for better head start)

I should really learn CFOP to improve my speed but then my scrambling problem would get WORSE

Josh is (I think) using the trickier CFOP algorithms which involve more decision making and intuition, but you need to get into those if you want to get really fast. I just recorded a 1m40s solve using the "easy" algos, I don't think I could ever get sub 1m without going to CFOP
