I’m on Vancouver Island and while it’s not really common for people to carry chainsaws in their cars, it’s more common to find chainsaws than guns, especially in rural areas. Several reasons for that. Storms come and trees and limbs fall so some people keep their saws available just in case.

i had a similar experience doing a presentation in my English class. i went to a rural school and most people chose to do their presentations on riding quads, using chainsaws, etc. I did mine on Nikola Tesla, whom I was fascinated by. the teacher gave me a F for plagiarizing, even though I didn't.
