Tried out ramen & sushi place, ramen noodles more Chinese noodle than actual ramen noodles but delicious anyway, chasiu pork had great flavor and soup just thick enough.

Omg, I didn’t even spot that @drdickdixon.bsky.social was pointing out the typo in ‘char siu’ because I was so angry that Sainsbury’s was misusing the term to mean vaguely-Chinese tasting.
For the avoidance of doubt, their ‘char sui’ buns are *vegan* when char siu is a type of barbecued pork.

Pork belly is perhaps the single best cut to use for chasiu. Just throwing that out there.

They actually have pretty good Korean seafood pancakes in the frozen food at Costco now!

I stumbled across a good video primer on fermented tofu (Sam Low) and, armed with knowledge, gave chasiu chicken a try.

it's miso chicken ramen clocking in at around 650 calories at this size. I wish it was tonkotsu or black garlic (which has a tonkotsu base...) with chasiu but then it's over 1k calories ;___;
