This caterpillar is eating it's first meal 💜🐛🍳 The eggshell it just hatched from.

Got my loupe, a torch, my mobile phone and, with a very steady hand, I can share with you, a baby caterpillar trying to hatch 😍 This is a #chequeredSwallowtail #ButterflyEgg #Caterpillar #MacroFilm

This #ChequeredSwallowtail is 8 mm long now 😍
In my nursery, I have three Orchard Swallowtail caterpillars and 15 Chequered Swallowtail caterpillars as well as two Richmond Birdwing chrysalis & one Monarch Chrysalis 🥰🦋🦋🦋

To think that this tiny black dot has the potential to grow into a #ChequeredSwallowtail #Butterfly 🥰
I love when I have visual confirmation of which #caterpillar I'm watching, when the mother is still laying eggs on the tree, sometimes right beside the newest hatchling 🤩
