The chipmaker Qualcomm has announced that, from 1 September 2026, it will raise prices across several categories of chip products. According to industry reports, the magnitude of this increase reaches double digits, though it varies from customer to customer. Qualcomm had in fact notified its clients in advance back in July. The reason it gives is that the company can no longer absorb the rising supply-chain costs itself, and thus has no choice but to pass part of them directly on to customers.
