It was only five months ago that China averted disaster by rejecting contaminated beef from Argentina.

On March 19, 2026, Chinese authorities turned away a 22-ton shipment after detecting chloramphenicol.

With serial-lying psychopath Trump as president, God help us.😒

You know when your kid gets a gammy eye and you go to the chemist and buy some chloramphenicol and three days later, they're fine?

Not in 1903. In 1903, your child might be admitted to White Oak Eye Hospital for six to nine months, for daily treatment. The alternative was blindness.

Not by any chance the stuff that China rejected because of antibiotics /chloramphenicol residues before, is it?

Yes, China rejected it because it contained the dangerous banned antibiotic chloramphenicol!

* Your life-saving cancer drug shouldn't cost $12,000 a month. That's not reasonable.

* We should fund more science research so that we can cure more cancers

* The steak you eat shouldn't have chloramphenicol or Bt or other harmful chemicals in it.

That's not MAHA. That's just common sense.

I think McDonald's and Burger King also. This particular story isn't new, but it's still an issue.

China rejected some Argentine beef in March after testing found chloramphenicol, a banned antibiotic.

This was right around when Trump signed an executive order to buy a lot more beef from Argentina.

China has blocked a shipment of Argentine beef after repeated tests reportedly detected chloramphenicol. USA banned this antibiotic over 20 years ago in animals raised for consumption.

Here we use various techniques to determine the molecular mechanisms for an observed rise in chloramphenicol susceptibility at the same time as an increase in ESBL resistance.

China rejected the Argentinian beef we are importing to the U.S., due to it containing chloramphenicol, a banned antibiotic that causes serious blood disorders in humans
I'm not eating the poisoned beef from Argentina, and I don't trust U.S. chicken processing, so I guess it's time to just stop eating meat.

📣 Health Update: I went back to the 🥼 yesterday. Baytril didn't do its job. ☹️ So now I'm on a different antibiotic, called Chloramphenicol, with recheck in 3 weeks. I always take my medicines like the good girl that I am, so this shows me having nummies that I get afterward 😋🤍😘

The beef was rejected by China because it was found to contain a long-banned antibiotic, chloramphenicol; exposure can cause aplastic anemia which can be irreversible and fatal, and importantly, regulators have not been able to establish a reliably safe residue level in food.

Just an fyi, chloramphenicol kills. This is widely known in vet medicine, because it has accidentally been injected, and killed, veterinarians in the past.
