What, you mean you can't remember all of the different file permission values for chmod off the top of your head?
Linux people have forgotten that people who grew up with non-gui computers haven't existed for over 30 years, and it isn't an easy skill to pick up anymore. And then act like assholes to people who dont have it.

This is your regularly scheduled reminder that if you want to securely create a file containing a secret, do this:
$ (umask 077; vi secret.txt)
… and **NOT** this:
$ vi secret.txt
$ chmod 600
The former approach ensures that the file is born secure
$ (umask 077; vi secret.txt)
… and **NOT** this:
$ vi secret.txt
$ chmod 600
