In the churches I mentioned, basically your "initiation" as a fully fledged churchmember is your first Communion and children are baptized at birth (or adults who convert upon conversion); in essence (comparatively) infant baptism is the brit milah eq., First Communion the Bar/Bat Mitzvah eq.
