![Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS is a 1975 Canadian exploitation film about Ilsa, a sadistic and sexually voracious Nazi prison camp commandant. The film is directed by American filmmaker Don Edmonds and produced by David F. Friedman for Cinépix Film Properties in Montreal. The film stars Dyanne Thorne in the title role, who is loosely based on Ilse Koch, a convicted war criminal and overseer at the Buchenwald concentration camp.[1]](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:rripmnmsyo2vb4c6hccja3my/bafkreiccf6qamzbw7b2ahyynovpgcf45wxgqwapju35ltibvsbmt4gi5vu)

Me when I work at Imperial CinePix sp. zoo in 2014 and I master the polish audio track for the DVD release of Titan AE so the sync between audio and video is slightly wrong compared to any english cut of the film
the disc has like 7 other audio tracks and they're fine

David Friedman and Don Edmonds told me *on the record* that Ivan Reitman wrote the first. I got to ask Reitman this at a press conference and he said he had nothing to do with any Ilsa film (although his name on the third) and he told Cinepix not to make them.
He cancelled my one-on-one interview.

The Franco one is awful but I have tried to spend much less on physical media and then last week I found out Ilsa, The Tigress of Siberia is on 4k and I obv ordered it 🤦♂️
Two fun facts: Only Ilsa I saw from 35mm in a cinema (Sitges 2018, intro by Dyanne) and only one to carry Ivan Reitman's name.

Got these two in the mail today so now I got the whole fucked up trilogy lol
Now I just need to get my hands on the fourth "unofficial" one directed by Jess Franco.

Happy birthday to Happy Birthday to Me, released on this day 45 years ago. I've adored this quirky Canadian slasher film since the ‘80s, and it was an honor to write the official novelization for Cinepix in 2024. Hopefully the book will get a second printing in the near future. Time to cut the cake.
