Yesterday, without much fanfare (no official inauguration), Naples inaugurated a much delayed (a standard for Naples) short extension of its metro line 1 to Centro Direzionale.
The station serves a 1970-palnned edge business district and is shared with the Circumvesuviana railway.

Ecco, adesso abbiamo De Luca che vuole "dialogare" con Putin. Di cosa gli vuole parlare, della Circumvesuviana? Del bradisismo a Pozzuoli? Delle liste d'attesa nella sanità in Campania? O pensa che lui smetta di ammazzare gli ucraini grazie alle sue facezie?

Wat heb je in Italië toch een aantal onwijs vage shady voorstads-spoorwegen. Met onwijs gaar, lomp materieel vol met graffiti etcetera. Hier op de foto: de spoorlijn Rome - Viterbo en de Circumvesuviana bij Napels. Werkelijk #treurtrip-waardige spoorwegen.

Wat heb je in Italië toch een aantal onwijs vage shady voorstads-spoorwegen. Met onwijs gaar, lomp materieel vol met graffiti etcetera. Hier op de foto: de spoorlijn Rome - Viterbo en de Circumvesuviana bij Napels. Werkelijk #treurtrip-waardige spoorwegen.

Finally some good news for the dysfunctional circumvesuviana.
With the new Stadler trains progressively entering service, EAV will introduce a 30 minutes clockface timetable starting October 17th (it's now 36') on all it's limes.

EAV's (Circumvesuviana) Naples-Piedimonte Matese, 80km Line. Half electrified (poles, no wires then abandoned) now new Stadler diesel trains.
The 1950s trains abandoned in depot since 80s now being cut up.
