There is no mystery about this condition. Human kidneys did not evolve to tolerate intense heat, dehydration, and prolonged physical labor that clogs kidney tubules with leaked muscle proteins
But studies of CKDu have been especially challenging to execute because the disease primarily affects marginalized populations.
